DDI is a community-driven platform designed to amplify voices, share stories, and provide culturally relevant resources around dementia care. It creates a safe space for patients, families, and caregivers.
Anyone impacted by dementia can join — including patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community members who want to support the cause.
DDI focuses on raising awareness of health disparities in dementia care, especially for Black, Asian, and minority ethnic communities who often face delayed or missed diagnoses.

No. DDI is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Instead, it provides access to shared experiences, culturally relevant information, and connects users with trusted healthcare resources.
A note from our founder.
“The Dementia Dialogue Initiative began as a spark during a university module focused on evidence-based care. What started as an assignment quickly evolved into something deeply personal, a vision to change how we discuss dementia and support those living with it.”
With eight years in domiciliary care, I’ve seen dementia through the eyes of families and patients. These moments shaped my understanding of truly compassionate, person-centred care, and inspired me to build DDI to bridge the gap between clinical practice and real-world conversation.
